Apple vs Samsung

When it comes to devices Samsung is never far behind Apple, which can make it difficult for people to decide which brand is right for them. Let’s have a look at two of the most popular brands in technology and the features of both.

With the recent launch of the Samsung Galaxy S22 and S22 Ultra this year and the iPhone 13 and iPhone 13 pro max being released last year, looking at the comparisons between the two they are extremely similar.

When you directly compare them, there are less differences between the iPhone 13 and Samsung S22 than you might realize. They are both:

  • The same price bracket

  • The same screen size of 6.1 inches

  • Similar storage options with a 128GB and 256GB option on both devices

Apple ranks slightly higher by offering a 512GB storage option for their customers, whereas Samsung stops at 256GB. So if you are someone with a lot of images/files on your device, Apple might be the best option for you!

For the people who love their phone for the photography side, the iPhone 13 offers the most advanced dual camera the iPhone has ever had. With a new ultra-wide camera, you will capture 47% more light to brighten up your pictures and videos, with a new sensor shift stabilization to keep your shots steady if your hand isn’t.

For the Samsung Galaxy S22, with a similar innovation to their camera they have introduced Nightography, with a sensor to attract more light when you are taking a picture in a dark setting and a 3 x optical zoom feature, allowing you to get a clear image from a further distance. Looking at both abilities regarding the device measuring response to light, they are basically identical!

There are of course a lot of other perks to using Apple – iMessage when you are communicating with other iPhone users, FaceTime to easily stay in touch with family and friends and easily pairing up with your Apple Watch and MacBook.

In recent IOS updates, Apple have added new features to encourage the use of Facetime for business meetings. This includes a share screen option, a group call of up to 32 people, and share the call via a link. If you are a Samsung user, you can still join a Facetime call through a link that an Apple user provides.

Does Samsung have an alternative to iMessage or Facetime?

Whilst Samsung doesn’t have their own version of Facetime, Google Duo is the most popular alternative for Android users, which is the exact same concept as Facetime but for Google account users instead. Instead of having iMessage they use Google Messages, which allows you to see when an Android user has read your message and when they are typing, whilst running off data instead of your text message allowance. This is exactly the same concept as iMessage!
