O2 Gurus in the Community


Alongside the great community projects we are currently involved in such as the Project 65 and Cyber Police sessions, our Gurus are continuing to visit local libraries, community centres and Think Big Projects to educate people on both the latest technology and internet safety.

Danny Howden has made his mark within the Selby community by visiting the local library, sharing knowledge and best practice about how to keep children safe online. Danny provided information booklets and top tips about the online world whilst also letting people know about the one-on-one service we are able to provide in store. Danny wanted to ensure the message of keeping children safe online was heard loud and clear and was over the moon when local paper, The Selby times, picked up his fantastic community work and featured him in the weekly publication.

A similar story can be told in Havant, Southsea, Winton and Waterlooville with Joel Hatchard, Ryan Johnson, Stuart Cake and Liam Neal all attending pre-arranged sessions to speak with parents and carers about the NSPCC. Each event our teams attended is great opportunity to share knowledge and educate people on the importance of online safety. It also enables us to let the wider community know we are here to support them navigate the digital world. 

We continually seek new opportunities where we can share our knowledge with the local community that’s why Ryan, our Guru at Southsea has recently been in talks with Southsea Visually Impairment Officer and is hoping to set up tech sessions for partially sighted residents in the region. He will work towards helping each person by adjusting their tech to suit their needs, making it easier for them to use and complete day to day tasks. 

Finally, Priority has also been a focal point for all our stores. With fantastic discounts and exclusive content available for just for our customers, it’s something we work hard at promoting. Our Southern Gurus, Lewis Martin and Stuart Cake have both spent time linking up with local outlets on the high-street. After speaking with the Body Shop manager, Lewis spent an afternoon in the store chatting to customers about Priority and showing them the great deals that are available if they are an O2 customer and download the app!
