Selby O2 Guru Danny and York based Guru Sean have joined forces to deliver a six month accessibility course in collaboration with Selby District Vision. The course aims to run through the basics on in-built accessibility and apps that will help people suffering with a visual impairment, ensuring that they are getting the most out of their devices.
The first of the six part course was held on Thursday 11 May. Danny met with a group of 7 people and covered accessibility functions on Android & Apple devices and the benefits of using them. He also explained his role at O2 and invited anyone to make a free appointment with him at the store if they were struggling with anything that was covered in the workshop. The tech workshops that will follow over the next few months will cover a range of different topics including useful accessibility apps, setting up and using email and social media.
The Yorkshire based charity has been committed since the early 1960’s to helping people in and around the small market town that experience sight loss. We are delighted to be able to work with such a well-established charity in its community and are pleased to help people engage with their technology that will help them in their day to day lives.
