We are delighted to announce we have delivered our first accessibility workshop within the company. After speaking with the Visually Impairment Officer for Portsmouth, Julie Duffy, we realised there was a lack of tech help available in the local region. Alongside Julie Duffy we set out to change this by organising the first accessibility workshop in Southsea library. This was led by the Southsea store Guru, Ryan Johnson, who looked at what accessibility functions & apps were available on Android devices.
Ryan spent a morning in March with a small group of fourteen people from the Blind Society, running through inbuilt accessibility settings on Android devices as well other useful apps to download to help them on a day to day basis. This was then followed up with one on one appointments with Ryan back in store.
We are looking forward to continuing to support the Blind society throughout 2017, with Ryan providing more information on how to make the most of their devices.
